What is Thai tea?

Thai tea is a sweet, smooth drink with a creamy orange color. It is usually made from a mixture of Thai tea, condensed milk and milk and served with plenty of ice cubes. This Thai iced tea is one of the best drinks and is usually enjoyed after a spicy Thai meal.

The tea blend used here is nothing but a mixture of black tea and spices such as star anise, cardamom, crushed tamarind and other similar spices. And the taste is similar to the taste masala chai In which the component of the tea mixture is similar. The unique orange color comes from the orange food colors used in most brands of Thai tea.

The ingredients you will need to make this Thai iced tea are minimal and you can easily find them in most Asian grocery stores. Let’s see what they are below.

  • Thai Mixed Tea – I used the store that brought Mix Tea but you can also make it from scratch. To do this, add ¼ teaspoon of chai masala powder For every two tablespoons of loose black tea. The orange color comes from the orange food colors used in the store. So you can also use a sprinkle of orange food coloring to get a similar color to your drink
  • condensed milk It gives your drink richness and sweetness
  • Half half Leben It gives a thick and creamy texture. But you can also use whole milk and coconut milk Almond milk Or other types of milk of your choice
  • sugar (optional) – If you want your drink to be very sweet, I recommend adding sugar while the tea is brewing. You can use a 1:2 ratio of tea powder and sugar mixture to achieve the perfect sweetness

  • Boil the water In a saucepan over medium heat, pour water and bring to a boil
