However, not all of its flavors were a hit for me. Relaxing, Alani Nu does give a refreshing bolt of energy. Read on for my in-depth review of the drink and what it has to offer!

Is Alani Nu a Good Energy Drink?

Yes. In my opinion, Alani Nu has what I’m looking for in an energy drink. I’m not a big fan of sugar and calories and Alani Nu really delivers a solid energy boost without the excessive sugar and calories.

Because Alani Nu is sugar-free, it won’t have glycemic effects on your blood sugar, leading to obesity and diabetes, as stated in this study.

Over, the use of artificial sweeteners can help you with your diet. The only way it could affect your diet negatively is when you excessively consume it knowing that it doesn’t have any sugar. This could make you gain additional weight.

While Alani Nu has only ten calories per can, I don’t really go for another round because of its high caffeine content.

Do Alani NU Energy Drinks Have Caffeine?

A 12 fl oz of Alani Nu contains 200mg of caffeine. I like caffeine, but not this much in a single can. I prefer energy drinks with 50-100mg of caffeine because they’re safer and easier to control your dose.

The FDA recommends consuming no more than 400mg of caffeine daily. Doing so can lead to caffeine overdose symptoms such as:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Vomiting
  • Hallucination
  • Palpitations
  • Nervousness
  • Headaches

Prevent headaches by getting just the right amount of caffeine.

Alani Nu Flavors

Alani Nu has unique Flavors with Cosmic Stardust as their best seller.

If you haven’t tasted one yet, I’ll be sharing with you my personal opinions for each of them. Or you can also watch this video too!

This vlogger already had her previous review on Alani Nu Energy Drinks. Find out why she decided to go for another round in this video.

The Cosmic Stardust flavor will give you a sweet-tart taste. Its sweetness is very similar to cotton candy, and its berry flavor matches it nicely. I was expecting it to be awkward tasting, but I was wrong.

Next to it is the Witch’s Brew. It’ll remind you of caramel green apple lollipops. You can never get tired of its sweetness and nostalgic taste.

The Hawaiian Shaved Ice flavor is much better if it’s served super cold. It’s perfect for a beach experience, and the watermelon and strawberry don’t contradict each other.

This one is also sweeter than the Cosmic Stardust. Also, the boost of energy came out smooth for me and I didn’t experience any jitters.

Mimosa is perfect for citrus lovers. Very thirst-quenching and the caffeine boost is good too. Like with the other flavors I didn’t feel any side effects.

I was supposed to replace my afternoon coffee with Mimosa. However, I was disappointed with the strange aftertaste. Maybe it’s because they made this one too sweet.

Tropsicle and Trippy hippie will remind you of a pina colada. It has a strong pineapple flavor with a hint of coconut. These two are the most refreshing flavor for me out of them all.

Alani Nu’s newest flavor is the Electric Tie-Dye Cherry Limeade, which doesn’t taste like cherry limeade. However, I still enjoyed it because it tastes like Pepsi.

The Watermelon Wave flavor has a different attack of freshness. It comes with a bit of citrus taste, and you won’t question if it contains watermelon. This flavor doesn’t taste watered compared to other watermelon energy drinks flavors I’ve sampled in the past.

Arctic White will literally take you to the Arctic. The flavor is unmistakable and has a little grape taste that tickles your tastebuds. It’s pretty simple but very refreshing too.

On the other hand, Breezeberry doesn’t taste that clean. Breezeberry and Carnival Candy Grape have a taste of the ice pops I’ve had when I was a kid. But the artificial flavor is very evident if it’s not super cold.

The Cherry Slush one tastes like cherry-inspired cream soda. At first, I liked it, but as I was about to finish it, I noticed that it didn’t taste that great at all. Well, I liked the fact that it worked on my jog though, I wish it came in a more enjoyable taste.

The ones I least like are Rainbow Candy and Sour Peach Rings. They both have an okay effect, and you can also take them as a pre-workout, but they just lack a new impact that you can’t find on other energy drinks.

Where to Buy Alani Nu?

Alani Nu is available on Amazon and GNC. The pricing varies depending on where you are going to buy it.

You can buy 12 cans at GNC for around $22.50. This means that one can is around $2.

On the other hand, if you purchase them at their website, 12 cans will cost you around $30. You can also check if their limited edition versions are back in production from there. They might also have sales and discounts from time to time.

Alani Nu Alternatives

Here are other energy drinks you can try if you’re uncomfortable with Alani Nu.

Razorwire

Razorwire contains 150 mg of caffeine, is low on calories, and has no sugar. This amount is much lower than Alani Nu. But just like it, it also has taurine, guarana, vitamin B for your focus, and instant energy, which you would need for a game or workout.

As to the flavor, it has a refreshing and natural fruity flavor. It also doesn’t taste much like an energy drink because it’s lighter. It has six flavors, so you won’t take much time choosing what to go for, compared with Alani Nu, which offers many more options.

A 6-pack of Razorwire may cost around $10, cheaper than Alani Nu. With this amount, you can get one sachet for only about $2.

Monster

Monster Energy drink has 160mg of caffeine, but it’s not sugar-free. It has 55g of sugar and other contents such as Panax ginseng and B vitamins. It also tastes like what you’ll expect for a strong energy drink.

Only take this drink if you have a high tolerance for sugar and caffeine. Interesting, this energy drink could truly help you start your day and even your overnight endeavors.

A pack of 12 cans is priced at around $32.50 on Amazon. One can costs around $3, but that’s not a waste of money because it’s really worth it based on the strength. However, there are much wiser options.

REIZE

The flavors of Alani Nu Energy drinks have a sweet taste, while REIZE has a gentle lime that tastes right compared to Alani Nu Sour Peach Rings.

If you love a clean and gentle taste, you should get REIZE. It’s packed with B-vitamins, inositol, and taurine. You can also get these from Alani Nu; However, for me, REIZE has an edge on its packaging and caffeine content.

REIZE comes in handy 4g sachets you can take with you anywhere! I love how I can just keep it in my pocket or bag and I can whip up a fresh and fizzy glass of REIZE anytime.

REIZE Sachet poured in a glass
REIZE sachet poured in a glass.

It only has 50mg of caffeine. And while this may seem too little for you, 50mg of caffeine can really give you a great energy boost that won’t cause any pesky side effects.

It’s perfect for those with low caffeine tolerance or who are beginners at energy drinks. Compared to Alani Nu’s 200mg, REIZE’s is definitely better in my opinion. It’s also sugar-free, so you won’t have to worry about having sugar crashes as well.

You can get REIZE for only around $1 and you can even have your orders shipped straight to your door!

Try REIZE now and I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s a better option than Alani Nu.

Final Say

Overall, Alani Nu is a pretty simple but powerful energy drink. You can have a lot of options with this energy drink. They all work, but there are significant differences in their taste that add to their uniqueness.

Alani Nu is not that expensive, but you can still get much safer and improved benefits with REIZE. With Alani Nu’s caffeine content, you can already use it as a pre-workout beverage.

However, its makers also offer a Pre-workout version of Alani Nu. Just search them on their website, and you can order a tub.

Whether you choose the can or the pre-workout version, it’s best to limit yourself to one serving. I highly suggest that you assess your caffeine tolerance before going with this energy drink.
