The All-American Energy Drink Gets a ‘Restoration’

'Merica Energy Logo

Heads up, energy drink fans. `Merica Energy BOOM cans just got better!

It’s hard to find a truer Red, White and Blue supplement company than ‘Merica Labz!

When a company drops monstrous cereal pieces and cookie bits into its whey protein (exactly what they did with Patriot’s Whey), you know you’ve found a larger than life company that embodies the good old fashioned ‘Merican spirit.

It was only a matter of time before ‘Merica Labz developed an energy drink, and on Memorial Day of 2018, they launched ‘Merica Energy with their famous Red, White, and Boom energy drink cans. Launched with delicious flavors and cartoon drawings of legendary American Presidents (in jacked form), “Boom Energy” was a massive success (just like nearly everything else founder and CEO Doug Miller touches). But a few years later, it was time for an update.

Merica Energy Red White Boom

Merica Energy Red White and BOOM cans have been given a proper restoration, and they’re better than ever!

BOOM: The Red White and Boom Energy Drink Can Restoration

Over time, ‘Merica Energy received some consistent feedback. Customers wanted:

  • Refreshed flavors
  • A more refined, serious look
  • Physically stronger cans

‘Merica Labz listened, and on the 4th of July in 2021, they delivered with a

The new Merica Energy cans have the same name, but with a bold BOOM across the front with their iconic logo and bold, red, white, and blue colors.

Below, we show our new review, explain the ingredients (200 milligrams caffeine per can), and embed Merica Labz’ epic launch video. Before that, make sure you see our deals and sign up for ‘Merica Energy news alerts, we hear there are more restorations coming:

Red, White, and Boom: ‘Merica’s Energy Drink!

Energy drinks have had a meteoric rise in popularity, with numerous players are getting into the cold drink market. When ‘Merica Labz entered this market in 2018, they were a lesser-known underdog in the fight for fridge space. That gradually changed, as they became must-have drinks for both consumers and retailers — both in and out of the supplement industry.

It was modeled off of their patriotic Red, White, and Boom pre workout supplement, but with a different approach more true to energy drinks. ‘Merica Energy can be used pre workout, but it’s really meant for that “daily driver” energy drink feel.

However, ‘Merica Energy does steal a few notes from the pre workout supplement handbook, adding focus to the page.

The ‘Merica Energy Ingredients

Merica Energy

The all-new ‘Merica Energy cans bring the BOOM!

Merica Energy took a modest approach with the caffeine, at 200 milligrams per BOOM can, which comes from two sources (caffeine anhydrous and guarana extract).

But to top it off, you get 250 milligrams of Acetyl L-Carnitine and 250 milligrams of choline bitartrate.

  • Acetyl L-Carnitine is also known as ALcar. It’s a type of carnitine supplement that we love for its ability to improve focus while serving L-carnitine’s primary role in transporting fatty acids to the mitochondrial to get burnt for energy.[1]

We see numerous health issues (including difficulty burning fat) in those who are carnitine-deficient (generally vegans/vegetarians, elderly, and extreme athletes),[2-8] so it’s always great to supplement whenever we can easily get some. Just note that most studies use a lot more (roughly two grams per day), and we still suggest eating red meat to get it naturally, which shouldn’t be a problem for ‘Merica Energy fans!

The reason ALCAR adds some extra edge for focus is because it can cross the blood-brain-barrier,[1,9-11] and that extra acetyl group can get used to build additional neurotransmitters like acetylcholine, discussed in our next section:

  • Choline Bitartrate is a high-yield form of choline supplemented that increases plasma choline levels in the blood and brain. Choline is an essential nutrient used for numerous processes, as it’s used to help the body maintain the stability of cell structures.[12]

Here, however, we’re most excited that choline can help us build acetylcholine,[13] which we dub “the learning neurotransmitter”. Combined with ALCAR above, we’re getting more tools for our brain’s synaptic system to improve cognition and memory — but it’s also important to note that most studies use higher doses. At those higher doses, there are even successful weight loss studies with high-yield choline,[14] since it’s used throughout the fat metabolism process.[15-18]

    Merica Energy Ingredients

    The ‘Merica Energy Ingredients label

We often find choline in eggs, and since we want more, we still have to suggest Merica Energy drinkers to eat those steak and eggs and top off your choline stores with a can of BOOM. We don’t want to hear about you relying on it for your choline – that should still come from real food.

In addition, we have some helpful metabolism-supporting vitamins:

Finally, it all comes with a solid 184 milligrams potassium (5% DV) Which shouldn’t be overlooked in an era where everything is loaded with sodium and we don’t always see enough of its K-counterpart.

In terms of sweetening, we have a combination of erythritol (~3 grams worth) as well as sucralose and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K).

Overall, we love this as an affordable energy drink formula that has a bit more – they’re trying to get the industry away from neon marketing and closed formulas, and are doing a great job at that.

All ‘Merica Energy Flavors

Below is a list of all Merica Energy flavors. Those highlighted in yellow are the new ones in the 2021 restoration, but you may see some older flavors floating around out there as well.

The flavors are superb, but right now our favorite surprise is Victory (Cream Soda), which tastes halfway between a cream soda and a diet cream soda.. yet in energy drink form! Incredible job to team `Merica on these!

No artificial colors!

One thing we have to point out that we love is no artificial colors or dyes in any of the cans!! Since this is almost always drank from a can, why bother with them? Thankfully, ‘Merica Energy agrees.

The Restoration is upon us

‘Merica Energy indeed came out with a BOOM on Memorial Day 2018. But, as time passed, they wanted to clean it up a bit. The branding is just as patriotic as ever, but as the company has aged, so has the market. We like this serious side of `Merica Energy, yet will always remember to honor the historic Presidents on the original cans.

If you’re ready for a new kind of energy drink, you’re ready for the BOOM. Drink one and feel restored.

Cider Mills of Washtenaw County (1841 to today)

Patrick McCauley grew up in south eastern Michigan and recalls visiting cider mills as a child, enjoying in the fresh pressed apple juice and the cider donuts. Today he is avid cider maker and realtor in the Ann Arbor area a job that allows him to have an eagle eye on backyard orchards.

Williams Cider Mill

In this episode:

  • 119 Washtenaw County cider mills between 1841 and the present, of which 8 are still in business todayThe 1888 attempt to ban alcohol in the county (1909 – 102 cider mills)
  • Chicago Apple King – David Henning
  • The Erie Canal’s use as a major transportation route of goods including apples and cider
  • Marth Aray Day – Owner of a Cider Mill “that once stood in the middle of the road” was not only a woman but also African American and believed to be one of the few documented Black business owners at that time in the trade of cider. The mill was located at Michigan Avenue in Pittsfield Township. It looked to have a ten year run between 1880, and in 1899. Patrick notes that “the mill made 1500 barrels of cider.” Equally notable father Asher Aray, used the farm as a station on the underground railroad in the years before the Civil War.

Patrick’s in depth study appears to be the “tip of the iceberg”. He notes that perhaps it is a longer more bountiful story of even more cider mills. And not forget that this is only one county in the very active growing state of Michigan.

Essentials that every lady needs for her mocktail bar.

Essentials that every lady needs for her mocktail bar.

Alright, ladies! Just because there’s no alcohol at your home mocktail bar doesn’t mean it can’t be classy and fun. In order to make Instagram worthy mocktails, you’ll need all the essentials! But why stop at the bare minimum when you can jazz up your entertaining area with a few extra mocktail additions? Here’s everything a classy lady needs for her home mocktail bar and a few extra ideas you won’t want to pass on.

  • A Mobile Mocktail Cart
  • Cocktail carts are everywhere on Pinterest! They add visual intrigue to your home and give you a specified space to keep all of your bartending goodies. Why not get one and rename it your mocktail cart! Mocktails are just as classy as cocktails, so you should have a fancy piece of furniture to match your interests. Think of it this way, you’ll never regret this purchase, like you would a late night out at the bars. Mobile mocktail carts come in a variety of prices. If you’ve got a little extra money to splurge, check out Crate & Barrel’sAdina Brass Cart with White Concrete Shelves. You’ll be the envy of all your mocktail party guests with this beautiful cart.

Grenadine is fruity, sweet, and colorful—the makings of a great mocktail. For a different flavor profile, keep passion fruit syrup on hand to make delicious non-alcoholic passion fruit and mint coolers. A kit should include a shaker, jigger, strainer, bar spoon, muddler, citrus juicer, and channel knife. The citrus juicer will be particularly important if you’re planning on making fruity mocktails, because it will ensure that your citrus is as fresh as it gets. How to Conquer a Thanksgiving Day 5k – Drink Living Juice

Buckle up, Thanksgiving is on its way. For most people, this means a hearty feast with close friends or family. For others (perhaps more enthusiastic), Thanksgiving Day includes a 5km morning run, or “5km” as it is casually referred to. This is the American way to gain calories in the later afternoon.

5 kilos isn’t necessarily a small feat. Without the proper training and preparation, 3.1 miles can be a daunting endeavor. So, even though the 8-day notice might not be long enough to train properly, you can use this general framework the next time you decide to shoot for a race around the 5k mark.

The table below is made for beginners, so it assumes that your ability to basically run is virtually non-existent. Feel free to increase your mileage or speed, but remember the basic principles that apply to nearly all fitness plans, regardless of discipline or sport: Be calm when you’re supposed to go easy, and work hard when you’re supposed to go hard. Full tilt training every day is a recipe for disaster, and studies have shown that incorporating more “easy days” than “hard days” results in faster finish times for long-distance runners. Basically, stay disciplined and know when to call him back.

    Energy Drink

WildCat Energy Drink Production Procedures WildCat bottling

    WildCat Energy Drink Production Procedures…
WildCat bottling or manufacturing involves five major processes, each with their own safety issues that must be evaluated and controlled.
    1. Water treatment
    2. Compounding ingredients
    3. Carbonization of the product
    4. Product filler
    5. Packaging.

WildCat Energy Drink production and manufacturing procedures start with water, which is treated and cleaned to meet stringent quality control standards, usually exceeding the quality of local water supplies. This process is necessary to achieve high product quality and consistent taste profiles.

During this stage of the production process food coloring is added. WildCat receives the desired flavor (concentrate) at this point, while regular water is stored in mixing tanks until the fill line calls for it.
In order for carbonation to occur (carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption), WildCat is cooled using large ammonia-based cooling systems.

This is what gives WildCat products their fizz and texture. The carbon dioxide is stored in a liquid state and is piped to the carbonization units as needed. This process can be manipulated to control the desired rate of absorption of the beverage. Depending on market demand, WildCat may contain up to 75 psi of CO2. Once the product is carbonated, it is ready to be distributed into bottles and/or cans.
The packing room is usually separated from the rest of the facility, protecting the opened product from any potential contaminants. Again, the highly automated filling process requires very few employees. Filling room operators monitor equipment for efficiency, adding caps or loose caps to the capping process as necessary. Empty bottles and cans are automatically transferred to the filling machine via bulk material handling equipment.

As the components build up, the treated water is pumped into large stainless steel tanks. This is the stage in which the various ingredients are added and mixed. WildCat Sugar Free and Zero Calorie are mixed with non-nutritive artificial sweeteners like saccharin, while our regular flavor ones typically use liquid sucrose. For more information on how our products are manufactured and distributed in the market, contact:

Getting to Know Sparkling Cider – CiderScene

    sparkling apple juice

    What is sparkling apple juice?

Sparkling apple juice is simple carbonated apple juice that has been filtered, pasteurized and carbonated. Unlike hard apple juice, it does not ferment and does not contain alcohol. While many sparkling ciders are filtered, there are unfiltered variations. Sparkling cider often contains just the right amount of natural or artificial (usually natural) sugar; Thus, they are generally considered soft drinks and are generally in a similar space in the grocery store between juices and soda.

Is sparkling apple juice an alcoholic?

Sparkling ciders such as Martinelli, Welch, and Sheffield’s are non-alcoholic. They have never undergone the fermentation process, so they do not contain alcohol and do not require the alcohol removal process like other non-alcoholic products. For ease of understanding, these products are just carbonated apple juice.

Popular brands of sparkling apple juice:

    Sparkling Apple Juice from Martinelli

Martinelli is the biggest player in the game, so to speak. They have many flavors from sparkling apple to grape. Each one is made with a different type of apple or grape, or they have blends to suit your taste. Family owned and operated since 1868, Martinelli produces Gold Medal juices from apples grown in the Pajaro Valley in Watsonville, California. This and another item on this list are generally your go-to options in the Midwest – where we come from.

how much does it cost? $3-4 on average for a 25.4 fluid ounce bottle

Where to buy Martinelli sparkling cider:

    Sheffield Sparkling Cider

The best sparkling wine juice we’ve ever had. Not even close. This Washington state product comes from the Columbia Basin – an area rich in apple trees. Sheffield grows 14 different commercial apples and 40 different types of cider. They have classic candy, grape apples, raspberry apples, and a variety of specialty products that highlight the many regional apples—providing added flavor and complexity.

how much does it cost? $12-15 per 25.4 fluid ounce bottle

Where to buy Sheffield Cider: HERE

    Welch Sparkling Apple Juice

If the sparkling juice of a Martinelli wine carried some childhood memories, Welch would have had a full album. This is their only product out of many that I had a child that I still consume. This is 100% apple juice with no added sugars, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors. They have some newer bottles with colorful refills, but I personally prefer the old classic design.

how much does it cost? $3-4 per 25.4 fluid ounce bottle

Where to buy Welch’s Cider: HERE

    RW Knudsen’s Sparkling Cider

Now, we’ve never had this one before, but we’ve heard good things and it’s available in most major department stores. RW Knudsen has been manufacturing produce since 1961 on organic California vineyards. Sparkling apple juice, like the others, is made with the juice of whole apples and a few other ingredients. It is a non-GMO product and of course it is non-alcoholic.

how much does it cost? $4 per 25.4 fluid ounce bottle

Where to buy RW Knudsen’s Cider: HERE

    Langer’s Organic Sparkling Apple Juice

Again, we haven’t had it before, but this is frequently available across the United States. Another California product, Langers has been farming and making juice for people since 1960. This certified organic apple juice contains 100% juice with no added sugar or sweeteners. Only carbonated apple juice at its best. Compared to some other commercial sparkling ciders, the sugar is slightly lower. It should be better for people interested in sugar.

how much does it cost? $4-4.50 per 25.4 fluid ounce bottle

Where to buy Langer Cider: here

    Sparkling apple juice cocktail

Now that you have sparkling cider, you can drink it to make an excellent cocktail. Below, we’ve highlighted three sparkling cider cocktails that have peaked our interest.

    2. Apple Cider Mimosa
    3. bourbon apple juice

    Build muscle to burn fat

I am a staunch proponent of eating as healthy as possible and participating in a regular exercise routine. It feels different to all of us with our diverse interests, schedules, time constraints, and lifestyles. There is nothing that helps boost your metabolism more than exercise to build muscle.

More muscle means more fat burning capabilities.

For me, this is running 3-5 times a week and lifting weights three times a week. When it comes to boosting your metabolism, exercise goes hand in hand with healthy eating. Some foods have fat-burning and metabolism-boosting abilities. Adding them to your diet can help amplify your weight loss efforts. I am a huge fan of smoothies, especially when I can use natural ingredients to turn them into a smoothie for weight loss.

Give your body energy (ie, quality calories) to fuel it through exercise. Exercise helps build muscle, which burns more calories (i.e. fat) the rest of the time. See how well this works? It’s beautiful!

Our bodies need adequate fuel to keep up with the demands of daily activities. It is important that the calories we consume, especially if we are trying to lose weight, gain muscle or just improve our performance, Quality Calories.

A protein bar may be calorie-dense and full of nutrients, but it won’t satiate you in the same way as salmon, brown rice, and steamed vegetables. But a high-quality (preferably homemade) plant-based protein bar can give you the energy you need to power your workout or recover from a workout.

What does it mean? This means that recipes need to check several boxes: healthy fats, proteins, complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and/or a combination of all of the above. The above fat-burning smoothies contain all of that and more!

Best Energy Drink for Body Building (Achieve Abs) – REIZECLUB

We all know that bodybuilding is not for the faint of heart. It involves long-term exercises, a rigorous diet regimen, and the right energizer to get you going.

Of course, when it comes to energizers, energy drinks are at the top of the list because of their caffeine content and added vitamins and micronutrients.

If you are just getting into bodybuilding and looking for the right energy drink brand for you, you’ve come to the right place! I’ll be giving you some recommendations on which brands can suit your needs and their particular advantages too.

Ready to be blown away? Let’s go!

What Ingredients are Good for Muscle Building?

Energy drinks often include an extensive range of ingredients that increase physical performance that results in bulking up of muscle mass. In addition to caffeine and Taurine, there are also B vitamins and BCAAs in your typical can of energy drink.

Caffeine is indeed beneficial for muscle growth since it may keep muscle carb reserves from being used up, therefore, boosting fat-burning. Also, it encourages muscle development by increasing energy levels during physical activity.

Although caffeine is generally considered safe, it is possible to get addicted to it, so don’t become too complacent.

With all that being considered, there is a wide range of advantages to using this substance. It’s just a matter of how conscientious a user you are.

Bodybuilders often use taurine to avoid muscular cramps and discomfort, which allows them to concentrate on their training and prevent exhaustion.

As we already know, taurine is a key ingredient in energy drinks because of its ability to enhance athletic ability. With this, athletes can maintain a higher level of intensity for long durations because it reduces muscle soreness.

    B Vitamin

There are several nutrients essential for muscle growth and the group of B-vitamins may be the most fundamental because of the wide range of benefits it offers to bodybuilders.

B vitamins are well-known for their role in boosting your energy. By making sure you have enough b vitamins daily, your performance will significantly improve and later translate to muscle gain.

BCAAs may be utilized as an alternate energy source if your body is running low on carbs during exercise, which is inevitable when you’re trying to gain muscle mass.

In other words, BCAAs can help you do workouts for longer periods, lose more fat, and still retain and grow muscle mass, all happening simultaneously.

To put it another way, BCAAs are anabolic agents that help the body burn fat while preserving muscular mass. Some studies have shown that combining it with taurine may enhance physical performance and recuperation.

Check out this video for a more in-depth dive into BCAAs’ benefits.

How Does Caffeine Affect your Workout?

Caffeine provides an energy boost to bodybuilders, allowing them to grind harder and achieve more remarkable results.

In fact, it has been shown repeatedly that consuming caffeinated beverages before working out results in more reps, greater power, better endurance, and improved cognitive ability

Despite caffeine being an excellent stimulant, at what point does it pose a risk to your health? The obvious answer is when caffeine consumption is abused.

With that in mind, here are a few of the adverse effects of excessive coffee consumption.

    • Fatigue
    • Dizziness
    • Palpitations
    • Restlessness
    • Rapid Heartbeat
    Tumbled cup of coffee beans.
Limit your caffeine daily caffeine intake to avoid any unwanted side effects.

Are Energy Drinks Good for Muscle Building?

To gain muscle mass, you need to exercise for more extended periods and push yourself to complete more reps, and energy drinks can help you do just that.

In terms of nutrition, it’s unlikely that drinking too many energy drinks would help you gain muscle mass. In fact, it might possibly work against you. Obviously, your dedication and hard effort are all you need.

Also, carbs are essential for a successful bodybuilding workout since they provide the body with the energy it needs to push and pull weights in the form of barbells and dumbbells. That is the main reason why sugar, the most basic carbohydrate, is often included in large quantities in energy drinks.

So I strongly caution you not to consume energy drinks excessively since it can lead to weight gain and possibly diabetes.

Which Energy Drink is Suitable for a Gym Workout?

Celsius claims to be a healthy energy drink that boosts metabolism, eliminates fat, and enhances athletic performance. Because of this, it has become a popular pre-workout drink among fitness enthusiasts.

Some strong claims are made by Celsius, and one of the most immense promises is that a can of Celsius would burn over 100 calories if you drink it. To be honest, I highly doubt that, but maybe it really can.

Although, it’s logical, considering that they’re touted as a workout drink. Ultimately, it is a delicious drink that contains 200 mg of caffeine per can and doesn’t include any additional additives that I would consider to be on the extreme end of the spectrum.

    Best Energy Drinks for Bodybuilding

The moment you’ve all been waiting for. Grab a pen and add these best energy drinks for bodybuilding to your grocery list.

    Energy Drinks Caffeine Sugar Calories
    Bang 300 mg 0 g 0 cal
    Reign 300 mg 0 g 10 cal
    REIZE 50 mg 0 g 11 cal
Brief summary of the best energy drinks for bodybuilding

In addition to having a strong caffeine content of 300mg, Bang energy drink is also sugar-free. This is the most superb option for a high-intensity exercise that requires a lot of energy since it contains the most caffeine.

After a hard day at work, it’s also ideal for hitting the gym when you know you’ll be doing a lot of weightlifting.

However, because of its 300mg caffeine, I wouldn’t recommend taking it for a mild exercise unless you want to have an abundance of energy for other things afterward. You wouldn’t want to experience those irksome side effects that come with excessive caffeine intake.

Reign is yet another brand that packs quite the punch. Like Bang, it contains 300 mg of caffeine and zero sugar.

Aside from that, it also has helpful micronutrients like CoQ10 and Electrolytes to further enhance your physical performance. Electrolytes, in particular, are essential to keeping your body hydrated and replenishing the fluids you’ve lost.

As I mentioned before, 300 mg is quite a lot, so I’d only recommend Reign if you have a heavy bodybuilding routine that you do regularly.

    REIZE (Ultimate Favorite)

Lastly, but definitely not the least: REIZE is a fantastic energy drink for bodybuilding.

Not only is it available in convenient small sachets that you can combine with water whenever you need a new energy boost, but it is also perfect for carrying about in your workout bag or pocket.

Furthermore, the caffeine content in REIZE has a reasonable 50mg, and it has just 11 calories, making it sugar-free and low in calories. This means that you won’t need to worry about nasty side effects that usually come with highly-caffeinated drinks like Bang or Reign.

Plus, REIZE also includes a fantastic clever mix of nutrients like Taurine, ginseng, and B vitamins that work hand in hand to give you the optimal energy boost when you’re working out without crashing.

To make things even better, each serving or one sachet costs just roughly $1 and you can even have your orders shipped straight to your door! That’s amazing value for your money.

Give it a shot now and see whether REIZE is the right companion for your bodybuilding journey.

A pack and a cold glass of REIZE energy drink.
You need a pocketful of energy towards your bodybuilding goals.

Other Energy Drinks You Should Try:

    Other Alternatives

It isn’t necessary to take energy drinks to obtain a little more oomph while you’re working out. Alternatively, you can try these beverages, which work just as well!

There’s no arguing that water is the ideal beverage for bodybuilding. After all, hydration is just one of water’s many benefits.

Water consumption should be no less than eight glasses per day on average. However, this might vary widely based on how hard or how often you work out.

    Soy Milk

When it comes to gaining muscle mass, soy milk is undoubtedly one of the best options. The high protein content helps to bulk up your muscles.

Additionally, because of the calcium and vitamin D it carries, Soy milk is beneficial to your bone strength. Compared to other drinks, Soy milk has a higher caloric and protein content, making it an excellent choice for meeting your caloric and protein needs.

    Protein Shakes

A bodybuilder’s diet would be incomplete without protein shakes. With this in mind, you don’t have to eat whole foods every day to meet your protein needs.

Protein shakes aid in muscle growth and healing when you’re grinding for hours in the gym. They keep muscle mass from eroding and, in some instances, assist build it during weight reduction.

When it comes to obtaining adequate protein, drinking a protein shake before or after an exercise or in the middle of a meal might be beneficial.

A bodybuilder’s diet might be harmed by excessive consumption of energy drinks or even soy milk and protein shakes. Always remember, too much of anything is a bad thing.

On the other hand, energy drinks, like REIZE, may be pretty effective if you know your limits. However, water still and will always remain the best beverage for bodybuilders and should be your preferred beverage of choice.

Also, keep in mind that energy drinks are inherently high in caffeine and sugar, so limit your regular use. Indeed, you must be careful about what you put into your body to achieve optimal results!

Aepptreow Winery’s Single Barrel Series Americana Still Cider

We may be halfway through #DryCiderJanuary, but we finally have proper snow at Finger Lakes. I feel like I’ve waited for this snow longer than ever since my childhood. It’s not about the possibility of a snowy day (although those things are nice!), but winter here just doesn’t feel real without snow. It’s always a time of cold, slow, and dark, but snow is the recharging, transformation, and beauty of the season. I don’t like to drive in it, but I do like to watch it, photograph it, walk through it, and enjoy its reflective brightness.

As part of Dry Cider January, I sat down with Emily of Cider Culture and talked about a few of my favorite dry ciders these days. Aeppeltreow’s Americana opened up for this chat, and here’s my review of this delightfully dry selection.

You can find reviews of Aeppeltreow Ciders in several previous blog posts along with plenty of background for a winery, cache, and distillery in Burlington, Wisconsin. I love how they describe themselves.

Here’s how the label describes Americana Aeppeltreow.

“Aepptreow Winey Americana juice is the culmination of a decade of Aeppeltreow-style innovation. That’s why cider is back to our roots. We grafted surviving Colonial American apples. Raised them tenderly. Taliaferro.” 7.5% ABV

Appearance: intense harvest yellow, ring of bubbles on the edge, shiny

Americana uses clear glass for the bottle, so I can appreciate the color before I pour it. It’s a dense yellow harvest that reminds me of polenta, aged gouda, or the moon on certain nights of the year. He is beautiful, mature and satisfying. The apple juice is shiny with just a ring of bubbles on the edge of the liquid.

    Flavors: peach, plum, ripe apple

I love the amazing bountiful scents that jump out of my glass. Apple juice is brimming with the aroma of peaches, plums and ripe apples. Pleasant and exuberant aroma is one of the surest ways to this apple juice lover’s heart.

Sweetness / Dryness: Dry but fruity

This apple juice is dry but tastes fruity. It’s a wonderful combination.

Experiment with flavors and drink: peach, blackberry, tart, almost wort

I’ve noticed that this apple juice tastes so sour and sour that it can almost be perceived as a vegetable oil, even though it is described as a still juice. I had a chat with the germ maker Charles and he told me that low levels of CO2 were used in the bottle, and I can notice that too. Either way, it’s not a bubble but almost a nice tickle of texture.

Americana brings tons of fruity acid to the party. The fruit leaves remind me of blackberries and peaches in the best possible way. I see winter but taste summer. The cider has a medium, plump texture and soft fermented flavors, but it’s all about fermentation very clean.

Sip after sip, peaches appear as the dominant flavor to me. She is luscious, mature and soft. What a treat. I had it with homemade soft pretzel, but I could also see enjoying this apple cider with corn soup or creamy pasta bread. It has enough acidity that you don’t need bubbles to raise the flavor of the food.
